The HAIZEEKO project aims to promote innovation in the offshore wind sector through the development of sustainable materials, advanced protection technologies and intelligent monitoring systems, mainly applied to blades and structural components of offshore wind turbines.

Offshore wind infrastructures operate in extreme environmental conditions that cause corrosion, wear and high maintenance costs. Conventional coating systems present limitations in terms of durability, environmental impact and operational cost, which drives the search for more efficient and sustainable solutions.

In this context, the project investigates advanced  coatings, new recyclable materials for blades and structural monitoring technologies, with the aim of improving the durability, energy efficiency and sustainability of offshore systems.

The project is coordinated by Navacel and involves the participation of Argolabe Ingeniería, Mecanizados Ekimen, Global Factor, Innomat Coatings, Innovation Tree, Manutención y Manipulación Eraman, Kera-Coat and Mandiola Composites, as well as the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) agents CIDETEC and TECNALIA.

The project has a duration of three years (2025–2027).

Project funded by the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government (HAZITEK Programme) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
